Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
This page lists every cookie and similar browser storage the AFPR platform itself sets, what it is for, and how to control it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy. Where this page and the banner disagree, this page is the fuller description.
What we store, and why
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| afpr_session | First-party cookie | Essential | Keeps you signed in. A signed token holding only your account ID and an expiry — no personal data beyond that, and the site cannot run member pages without it. | 7 days |
| afpr_consent | First-party cookie | Essential | Remembers the cookie choices you made in the consent banner, including the legal version you accepted, so we do not ask on every visit. | 12 months |
| afpr_watch | localStorage (Screener Suite) | Functional | Your Suite watchlist, kept only in your own browser on this device. It never leaves your browser except as part of your own use of the Suite. | Until you clear browser storage |
| afpr_admin | localStorage (Screener Suite) | Functional | An owner-only flag that reveals the admin-only Dark Pool tab in the Suite for the site owner. It is set or removed by the server each time the Suite loads; it has no effect for members. | Until you clear browser storage |
Categories
- Essential — storage the site cannot function without (sign-in, remembering your consent choice). Always on; there is no opt-out because the features simply will not work without it.
- Functional — storage that powers a feature you use, like the Suite watchlist in your browser. Described here so nothing is set silently.
- Analytics — we currently set no analytics cookies. If we add privacy-respecting analytics later, this page will be updated first and the banner will ask before anything is set.
- Marketing — we currently set no marketing or advertising cookies, and nothing on this site tracks you for advertisers.
Your choices
The consent banner asks on your first visit: accept all, essential only, or manage categories individually (analytics and marketing are off by default, and today there is nothing in them — accepting all currently changes nothing beyond recording your choice, so future additions are covered by the consent you gave). Your choice is stored for 12 months. Signed-in members can change their mind any time from Cookie preferences in member settings, which re-opens the banner; changing the legal version also re-prompts everyone. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings — the member area will simply ask you to sign in again and re-ask your consent choices.
Third parties you reach from here run their own cookies under their own policies: Stripe and PayPal during checkout, and Substack and Slack while those services remain part of the offering. Questions about this policy: andy@afpr.com.
